Does your product contain soy?

PREVAIL jerky is a completely soy-free beef jerky. We use organic coconut aminos, a popular Paleo soy sauce substitute, to give our Umami and Lemongrass flavors their amazing and unique flavor profiles.

Are you Top 8 Allergen Free?

Yes, our jerky is Free-From all the Top 8 Allergens: Dairy, Eggs, Peanuts, Tree Nuts (we do contain coconut sugar, vinegar and aminos), Fish, Shellfish, Wheat & Soy. Our co-packing facility is dedicated free of peanut, tree nut (not including coconut), egg, fish, shellfish, and mustard. 

Does the beef jerky have to be refrigerated?

Since there are no artificial preservatives it is best to refrigerate our product if you don’t eat it in one sitting...but we won’t judge if you do.

What preserves the jerky if it doesn't have preservatives?

This is one of the most commonly asked FAQs related to our 100% grass fed beef jerky. As a family who always struggled to find clean, healthy beef jerky products until we finally started making our own, we understand and commend your efforts to find healthy snacks that are preservative-free.

Our passion for making clean, healthy, high protein snacks stems from our dedication to making clean eating on-the-go a reality. We use coconut sugar and salts to help cure the meat and then smoke it with Cherry Wood to naturally preserve it (the natural smoke also happens to add tons of flavor). Since we don't use additives to preserve our product, please keep refrigerated after opening.

Where is your product made?

We are a proud Chicago company. All of our jerky is made locally in Springfield, IL. Our product is the first product run in the morning after the strict HACCP level cleaning the night prior to ensure that there is no cross-contamination. No flavors are run on the same day. Regulators are regularly on site to ensure the highest standards are met.  We are also Paleo Certified, which means the Paleo Foundation reviews the origins of every ingredient that we use to make sure that there is no contamination of grains, soy, gluten or dairy along the way. Our plant is dedicated free of Peanuts, Tree Nuts (except coconut), Egg, Fish, Shellfish, Mustard. 

Is your product Organic?

All of our marinades are 100% organic, and blended with 100% grass-fed, grass-finished non GMO beef. PREVAIL Beef Jerky originated from our personal struggle to find clean and healthy snacks that are devoid of any artificial preservatives or other harmful ingredients. So we know how important the need is to ensure that your family is consuming only the purest, healthiest, and most nourishing snacks, without any GMOs.

Rest assured that everything that goes into making our beef jerky, from the ingredients to the smoke we use to flavor and preserve it, is authentic. We source our organic spices from the most reliable vendors across the world while the main ingredient, the beef, comes from family-owned New Zealand farms that are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished.

What does Grass-Fed, Grass-Finished mean?

Most meat is “Grass-Fed” but it's “Grass-Fed, Grass-Finished” meat that’s special. Grass-Finished refers to what cattle are fed in the last period of their lives. Most cattle are fed grain toward the end to help them put on weight. However, when they are grass finished, they are kept on the pasture, which results in higher quality (and tastier) meat. We work with family farms in New Zealand, where the cows can be pastured all year long. 

Does your meat have added Hormones or Antibiotics?

This is another commonly asked FAQ regarding our 100% grass fed beef jerky. As a family who has struggled to find clean, healthy snacks, we understand your need to make sure that the products you buy contain no hormones or antibiotics.

Our beef is from a co-op of Family Farms in New Zealand where the climate is ideal all year round and the cattle are raised in ideal conditions. They are healthy, happy, and therefore don’t require any antibiotics or hormones. Fun fact: Did you know GMOs were banned in New Zealand?

What is the Gluten Free Food program?

We are a proud certified Gluten-Free member of Gluten-Free Manufacturing program (GFMP), recognized by The National Celiac Association. They are a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to educating and advocating for individuals with celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivities, throughout the nation. They also engage in other activities related to educating the public about celiac disease/non-celiac gluten sensitivities and improving the quality of life of those diagnosed with the disease.

What is Keto Certified?

We are proudly Keto Certified. What does that mean? Our keto certified beef jerky contains no more than 6g net/effective carbohydrates per serving which is permissible for use of the Keto Certified label.

What is Paleo Certified?

Our paleo certified beef jerky has the Certified Paleo certification, which is the Paleo Foundation’s most popular and highest level certification for Paleo-compliant products. Certified Paleo products are products that contain Paleo ingredients and are grain free, dairy-free, cane sugar free, soy free, additive free, and no flavor enhancers.

Are you Cane Sugar free?

Yes! We use coconut sugar to add just the right amount of sweet to our products. Coconut Sugar rates a 35 on the low-glycemic index vs cane sugar which rates 65 on the same scale.
